Seventeen players from top flight Nigerian Premier Football League, NPFL were on Thursday unveiled by Kwara United FC, Ilorin, as part of its ceremony to begin the new NPFL season.

The players will join 18 other players of the team as part of the club’s package into the new season.

Recall that the team had earlier sacked 22 players upon resumption for the new NPFL season.
Ifeanyi Ogba, former Rangers International mobile attacker, Ayeleso Suraj, seasoned NPFL goalkeeper from Plateau United, Akanni Akeem, from Sporting Lagos are some of the 17 new players joining the Harmony Boys, as Kwara United is fondly called.
Speaking at the unveiling ceremony held at the multimillion naira Sugar Film Factory in Ilorin, Bashir Badawiy, general manager, Kwara United who represented the club’s chairman, Kumbi Titiloye, said that the recruitment process was painstaking.

“We undertook tours in Ikenne in Ogun, Lagos and Bayelsa states just so we could pick the right blend of players for the season.
“As you have seen from the players, we the right blend of ages, parading young and experienced footballers,” Badawiy said.
Reeling out match data and statistics of the tour and invitational tourneys played in the three states, the club general manager who said Kwara United still remain a formidable team to play.
“We hardly concede goals. We have beaten top rated clubs including Al Merikkh of Sudan, a continental giant.
“We still have days to spare in our training schedule and I can assure you that the boys will be ready to fire on all cylinders as soon as the league commences,” he said.
Kwara United will play against Niger Tornadoes in their first NPFL game.
