Reflecting on past performances, the Fulham star admitted that the team is not satisfied and is eager to start the qualifiers on a strong note.
“We have a lot to prove,” Iwobi stated. “I always say we have a lot of quality in the team. But hopefully, we can kick on and get the points that we need to qualify. It’s something that we all want to achieve as a nation.”
Iwobi emphasized the importance of transferring their club form to the national team, noting that both fans and players expect more from the Super Eagles.

“We have the players to do so, we just have to believe and make them throughout the day. The same way fans and everyone demands from us, we the players, we demand from ourselves as well. Because we know the quality we have, we know how well we do for our club sides. We just have to bring that form on a consistent basis for Nigeria.”
With a renewed sense of purpose and the Nigerian spirit driving them, Iwobi is confident that the Super Eagles will rise to the occasion.
“Everyone believes we all want to fight. And the Nigerian spirit’s in us, that we all want to win. So, we’ll go to the games and hopefully we can, like I said, get the points that we need,” he concluded.
