A Florida man was arrested Friday for making threats against former President Donald Trump and JD Vance, Trump’s running mate in the 2024 presidential election, according to Jupiter Police Department officials.

Michael M. Wiseman was charged after an investigation revealed he made written threats on social media against the former president, Vance and their families, officials said.

Officials said they were alerted to the threats through multiple online crime tips along with residents who expressed their concerns in person.

Following an investigation of the reports and Wiseman’s Facebook account, officials determined that Wiseman had made multiple threats against Trump and Vance.

The arrest comes almost a week after Trump was shot at a rally in Pennsylvania during an assassination attempt.

Following the shooting, law enforcement agencies increased patrols across the nation, urging citizens to report suspicious threats or activity.

Jupiter Police officials coordinated with U.S. Secret Service to investigate the threats and take Wiseman into custody without incident
